Ben Skywalker is the son of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker. He was born during 26.5 ABY aboard the Errant Venture. He spent much of his childhood away from his parents in shelter due to the fact he was born during the Yuuzhan Vong War.
After the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Swarm War began and he demanded to be the apprentice of Jacen Solo. Since Jacen wasn't a Jedi Master, he was assigned as Ben's informal Master. The Swarm War ended and the Second Galactic Civil War began. Ben continued to be trained by his cousin and was also a Lieutenant in the Galactic Alliance Guard. He wanted to be just like Jacen, but he began to have doubts after the fate of Ailyn Vel. Once his mother was killed he suspected Jacen and grew distant from him; training as a Jedi by his father instead.
Almost three years after the death of Caedus, Luke Skywalker was exiled by Natasi Daala. During this time, he and Ben traveled throughout the galaxy where Jacen had gone during his five year exile in search for what caused his downfall to the dark side. During this time Ben began to grow romantic feelings for a member of the Lost Tribe of Sith known as Vestara Khai.
